Transfer
The hotel will be pleased to arrange transportation to and from the hotel.
A transfer with private car from the airport to the port of Naples
costs 65 euro (two passengers). The cost of hydrofoil tickets purchased
on behalf of clients by the driver is not included.
Alternatively, a complete transfer service is available at the rate of
115 euro per person (150 euro for single passengers) which includes:
car in Naples
hydrofoil tickets
taxi in Capri
hostess to accompany guests by taxi from the port to the Piazzetta and
then on foot as far as the hotel
porter service for 1 piece of luggage per person from the port to the
hotel (10 euro for each additional item)
- Otherwise you may easily reach te hotel by yourself following the instructions below.
Embarking for Capri from Naples or Sorrento
You can get to Capri:
- from Naples by ferry (the crossing takes about 80 minutes, price
approximately 4,5 Euro)
or by hydrofoil (54 minutes, price approximately 16 Euro);
- from Sorrento by ferry (the trip takes about 40 minutes, price approx. 6 Euro)
or by hydrofoil (20 minutes, price 12 Euro).
Transport craft leave Naples from the ports of Beverello and Mergellina.
That of Beverello is by far the most convenient, as departures are more
frequent and you have a larger selection of ferries and hydrofoils.
Updated timetables can be obtained from the Internet site of the CapriOnLine

Taking a taxi in Naples
So as to avoid unpleasant surprises it is advisable to take licensed
taxis only. The price of the ride is indicated on the taximeter, which
must be used by the driver. Fixed rates are available for the journey
from the Railway station or Airport to the port. These rates include
every type of supplement (holidays, luggage etc.). They should be
requested prior to commencing the journey and foresee a fixed route,
thereby excluding passengers the right to ask for route variations.
Getting from the airport to the port of Naples
The airport is approximately 7 km from both ports. The best way to
reach the points of departure is by taxi. The trip takes about 25-30
minutes and should cost around 25 Euro both for Beverello and Mergellina
harbours (see paragraph concerning fixed taxi fares in Naples).
A less expensive yet comfortable alternative are the CLP (private
coaches) that leave every 30 minutes from terminal 1 (arrivals side)
for Piazza Municipio. The ticket, which can be purchased on-board, is
around 3 Euro; the trip takes about 40 minutes. Bear in mind that the
coach goes to Piazza Municipio, which is a 3-minute walk from molo
Beverello (rather awkward if you have a lot of baggage. Some coach
drivers have the courtesy to make a stop only fifty metres or so from
the molo).
From the station to the port of Naples
There are three train stations in Naples:
Napoli Centrale (where the great majority of long-distance trains
arrive), Mergellina and Campi Flegrei.
Napoli Centrale is about 2 km from the molo Beverello; the best way to
get there is by taxi. The trip will take 10 minutes and cost about 10
Euro (see paragraph concerning fixed taxi fares in Naples).
Mergellina station is only 300 m from the port of the same name.
The Campi Flegrei station is in Fuorigrotta, in the northern outskirts
of Naples; in this case, the best way to get to the ports is by taxi.
Getting to the port of Naples by car
If you arrive from the north, leave the motorway at the Napoli turnoff;
take the ring road exiting at Naples, then after 15 km take the turnoff
for Fuorigrotta. Bear in mind that non-residents can embark their cars
for Capri in the off-season only (normally between November and late
March), and only on the ferries. Cars are of little use on Capri, so
the best idea would in fact be to leave it in Naples or Sorrento.
In Naples, leave your car preferably in an authorised and guarded car
park. There is a small parking area next to the molo Beverello, costing
upwards of 11 Euro a day. If this car park is full, try the Parcheggio
di Interscambio Autosilo Brin in Via Brin (tel. 081/7632827); prices
are upwards of 8,50 Euro per day. If you leave from the Mergellina port,
try the car park of the same name in Via G. Bruno 112 (tel. 081/7613470;
upwards of 11 Euro per day) or the parcheggio San Nazaro in Piazza San
Nazaro 142 (tel. 081/681437; prices starting from 11 Euro per day).
From the port of Capri to La Minerva Hotel
Once you have arrived at the Marina Grande port, go to the Piazzetta.
The most convenient way is by the funicular (3 minutes, price 1,30 Euro
per person) or by taxi (slower but more comfortable; approx. 10 minutes,
for a cost of 15 Euro circa).
To get to the hotel from the Piazzetta, walk down the main shopping
streets Via Vittorio Emanuele, then Via Camerelle. To do so go in the
direction of Hotel Quisisana and turn left in front of it
(Via Camerelle). Half way along Via Camerelle in front of Hotel Syrene
turn off to the right (Via Ignazio Cerio) at the sign indicating La
Minerva and follow indications. Otherwise at the end of Via Camerelle
(after the restaurant "I Faraglioni"), instead of turning left
into the road leading to Via Tragara, follow our sign directing you
down the sloping street; the hotel is only 50 m away. This is a nicer
option but you will find some steps going down.
Baggage porters service - Remember that as of the Piazzetta,
all car traffic in the centre and panoramic areas of Capri is strictly
prohibited. For this reason, it is best to entrust any heavy or
cumbersome baggage (10 Euro for each item) to the porters at the ferry
and hydrofoil arrival areas for transport to the hotel.
There are also porters who can take your baggage to the hotel from the
Piazzetta in Capri center for 4 Euro per item. You will find them at the
taxi stop (1 minute on foot from the exit of cable car in the opposite
direction to the hotel).
Payment can be made at the hotel. We wish you a pleasant journey.
Please do not hesitate to contact the hotel if you need any further
information.
